Customers ask us all the time why we don't accept credit cards or PayPal. The short answer: those payment rails are incompatible with the SMM industry. The longer answer involves Stripe's risk rules, chargeback fraud, and why the resulting "crypto-only" stack is actually better for you as the customer.
Why card payments don't work for SMM
Stripe, PayPal, and Square all categorize SMM panels as "high-risk." Some refuse the category outright. The ones that accept it (rare) charge processing fees in the 8-15% range and routinely freeze accounts when a single customer chargebacks. The chargeback rate in SMM is brutal. customers buy 10,000 followers, get them delivered, then dispute the charge with their bank claiming "unauthorized transaction." The provider has no real defense (it's not like they can show a signed receipt) and the bank refunds. Stack a few of those up and the processor closes the merchant account.
So providers that try to accept cards either go out of business quickly, charge 2-3x to absorb the chargeback losses, or pivot to crypto. Most pivot to crypto.
What you get from a crypto-only checkout
- Lower prices. No 8-15% processing fees getting passed to you. Our pricing is what it is because the cost structure is genuinely lower.
- No card data on file. We have nothing to leak in a breach. Your bank never sees what you bought. they just see "outgoing crypto."
- Faster settlement. Crypto payment confirmation triggers delivery within minutes. Card payments would have a hold window before we could start delivery.
- No chargeback fraud against you. Sounds backwards but: a service that gets chargebacks closes, taking your refill warranty with it. Crypto-only services have lower failure rates because they're not subject to the chargeback death spiral.
Which coin to use
Litecoin is the practical choice for most customers. fees are pennies, confirmations are 2-5 minutes, and most exchanges support it. Bitcoin works fine but fees are higher and confirmations slower. Ethereum is great if you already hold it. USDT-TRC20 is good if you want a stable-value coin (no exchange-rate risk between when you pay and when we receive).
How to actually pay if you've never used crypto
Simplest path: buy $20 of Litecoin on Coinbase, Kraken, or Binance, withdraw it to a wallet you control (or pay direct from the exchange), and send to the address shown on your BoostHaus invoice. Total time: 10-15 minutes the first time, 2 minutes once you've done it once.
